Wedding Dress Quilt for Terre from Mary Manson Quilts

Terre had a pretty wedding dress with narrow lace on the skirt and lace motifs.  I made a wreath design in the center, with a diamond outline. The inner panel was edged with the narrow lace.  The quilting was a feather design.

Terre #1

Her grandmother made these Sunbonnet Sue blocks in 1959, and Terre wanted them made into a quilted wall hanging.  I added blue sashing and border, quilted in a feather design, and quilted a circle or diamond design in the white areas around each Sue.

Heart Topiary from Meena Schaldenbrand

Two groups I belong to issued challenges with a vintage theme.

The heart topiary holds memories, clothes and symbols of 4 generations. Included are my mom's wedding saree, my husband's brown jacket and tie for the flowerpot, my wedding dress, daughter's wedding dress, 2 leaves to represent our daughters, 3 doily flowers for the grand kids, and a butterfly from a handkerchief. Appliqued them onto my favorite runner to create something special and meaningful that can be displayed as a wall hanging or table runner.

Her daughter's quilt had a lace heart made from the sleeves in the center.  The lace on the bottom edge of the dress was used in the diamond shape in the center.  A Celtic design was quilted in silver thread in the inner border, accented with ...
